As of November 1, 2026, the Boone County Housing Authority Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) will be prioritizing our in-area applicants first. If you are not in Boone or Lincoln County you may still apply to the Section 8 program. However, residents applying in the counties we serve will be called in for a voucher FIRST. Residents from anywhere else will be placed on a separate waiting list, and will not be scheduled until all eligible in-area residents have been assisted.

Draft 2026 Annual PHA Plan
The Boone County Housing & Redevelopment Authority has prepared its draft Annual Public Housing Agency (PHA) Plan for 2026 in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations. It is available for public review at the Authority's office located at 824 Lick Creek Rd. Danville, WV 25053. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In addition, a public meeting will be held
July 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Housing Authority office.
